I wish I wasn’t so tired. Apple this week released new iPods (which are super cool, by the way) and so I was asked if I could go in to work this morning at 6AM in an effort to help complete the floorset before the doors opened at 10AM. I agreed and went. Needless to say, it has left me feeling a bit groggy tonight. I’m sad. There is so much that I would like to (and need to) accomplish, but I know I would not be able to dedicate the time needed to achieve the detail and precision I desire in everything that I do. And so on that note, I am electing to goto bed quite early tonight with the hope of waking up nice and refreshed for the next visit by the sun. It is under those conditions that the work that’s already alive and well in my imagination will be allowed to blossom into something tangible, and yes, strikingly beautiful. (Kind of like the completely remastered iPod nano)
According to today’s horiscope, for me, getting what I want is an art form. And like all great art, the devil is in the details. Today is a great opportunity for me to visualize what I want to draw into my life, but I should be absolutely sure about what I need to receive. Now I’m pretty sure I know exactly what this is referring to. I’m astonished by this astrological stuff. It’s… in a word, fantastic. I do have one more thing that I find to be insanely marvelous. It’s a quote by Phillip Dick and it goes like this: “Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn’t go away.” Now isn’t that cool?

Oh man! I had forgetten how tiring a work week could be until I finally went back to work! Since April I have had the freedom each day to do basically anything I wanted. Whether that be sleep until noon, or get up early for a morning jog, or spend the afternoon in the park, it didn’t matter. I wasn’t working which meant I could pretty much be a bum if I so chose. Well, that all came to an end this week. Perhaps it was obvious something had come up by my lack of updating my site each day.
Anyway, work is good. I love the people at my store and I enjoy doing what I do. I have jury duty starting Monday. It will be my first time so I’m kind of nervous but more so peeved. I’m finally cleared to return to work and now I have jury duty! That’s the way the cookie crumbles, I suppose. Oh, and we’re having a press conference on Tuesday, September 12. It’s like a mini Christmas for all the Mac faithful like myself. More updates soon, I promise.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, or have never seen pictures of or been to San Francisco, this city has many hills, many of which are extremely steep. Last July, Sony chose this fine place as the setting to film a commercial for their new line of TVs. (The Bravia ones.) They launched over 250,000 bouncy balls down the streets of San Francisco. It was amazing. You can watch the commercial here.
Well, they are back at it again. Only this time the ad is featuring massive paint explosions. It took 10 days and 250 people to film and huge quantities of paint were needed to accomplish this, which had to be delivered in 1 ton trucks and mixed on-site by 20 people. A Glasgow tower block played host for new TV ad. The empty multi-story high rise in Queen’s Court, Toryglen, had thousands of gallons of paint blasted across it by fireworks as part of a multi-million dollar campaign for Sony’s high definition Bravia LCD TV.
The effect was stunning, but afterwards a major clean-up operation was required to clear away all the paint!
The cleaning took 5 days and 60 people. Thankfully, the use of a special water-based paint made it easy to scrape-up once the water had evaporated.
