Life

November 4th, 2008

You never said “the end.” You only spoke to me through silence, and I escaped the curse and made my way toward history. It wasn’t me then who took you to the edge and watched you fall. It wasn’t me then testing your desire by setting fire to the House of Jupiter.

And I will never forget the way I fell toward what you wanted and what I thought I had. Seeing your demise wasn’t at all grand; I’m still a barrel of jaded contraband. It hurts as much today as it did when I hit the floor that dreadful August night.

New times brought too many changes and you grew tired with my obsession with stages. And now I’m flashing back; I see your eyes when they were craving me. And the way you held your breath when I was naming the stars! You brought me back to life; turned my skin the color of sand. I hope you’re happy in “the end”.
