I wish I wasn’t so tired. Apple this week released new iPods (which are super cool, by the way) and so I was asked if I could go in to work this morning at 6AM in an effort to help complete the floorset before the doors opened at 10AM. I agreed and went. Needless to say, it has left me feeling a bit groggy tonight. I’m sad. There is so much that I would like to (and need to) accomplish, but I know I would not be able to dedicate the time needed to achieve the detail and precision I desire in everything that I do. And so on that note, I am electing to goto bed quite early tonight with the hope of waking up nice and refreshed for the next visit by the sun. It is under those conditions that the work that’s already alive and well in my imagination will be allowed to blossom into something tangible, and yes, strikingly beautiful. (Kind of like the completely remastered iPod nano)

According to today’s horiscope, for me, getting what I want is an art form. And like all great art, the devil is in the details. Today is a great opportunity for me to visualize what I want to draw into my life, but I should be absolutely sure about what I need to receive. Now I’m pretty sure I know exactly what this is referring to. I’m astonished by this astrological stuff. It’s… in a word, fantastic. I do have one more thing that I find to be insanely marvelous. It’s a quote by Phillip Dick and it goes like this: “Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn’t go away.” Now isn’t that cool?

I spent today on a photographic escapade with the intent of proving that signs really do exist in nature. Ok, so maybe I used Adobe Photoshop to create the final image, but rest assured each individual image was left unaltered. Please enjoy each photo in its true essence here.

A lot of things have been on my mind lately. Mostly the fact that now that I’m “through the rain,” I’m scared to death of gaining back more weight than I lost. I try my best each day to eat as healthy as possible. Fruits, vegetables, fiber and protein are the main essentials I try to put down the old trap. I really love broccoli. Often times I’ll eat an entire head of it for dinner. Sometimes even two. Steamed of course. Mmm. Although it has been brought to my attention that I do not make a very “nice” friend the days thereafter! :)

I was very much looking forward to going back to work tomorrow, but the company in charge of Apple’s absense management has totally dropped the ball once again. Not only have they yet to approve my leave (which it’s been four months now), they’re now postponing my much anticipated return to work. (I know the people at my store anxiously await my return.) Granted, it took me a bit of time to get the ball rolling. (If I would have been able to ‘get the ball rolling’ in a timely fashion, I probably wouldn’t have had the need to be on leave in the first place, now would I?) It makes me so upset. I fear I’m going to get the dreaded letter of denial for failure to comply with deadlines and such. I suppose we’ll cross that bridge when we get there.

In other news, some students at Oregon State love Firefox so much that they have created a crop circle in its honor. I’ve never been a big fan of man-made crop circles, but you’d have to admit that this is pretty darn cool!

After weeks of hard work by (myself and) numerous collegues of mine, we finally launched Blue Sky People today. It’s a fantastic new service for the photographic community. Basically we have been amassing a large database of ‘real people.’ Anyone and everyone is welcome to join (that is if you live in San Francisco or the area). Blue Sky has been the leading destination for commercial photography in Northern California for the past ten years.

I just happened upon the owner about three years ago and we have become great friends. We are both super excited about this new (ad)venture. If you live in San Francisco (or at least in the Bay Area), then you are invited to join our next open casting. Please see Blue Sky People for more information.

Well, after four years of living in San Francisco, my dear friend from high school is finally coming to visit. I pick her up in the morning at the airport. I’m so excited to not only see her, but be able to show her around this great city of mine. It will be loads of fun, I’m sure. Talk to you soon! Ciao.

As you may or may not know, tomorrow kicks off Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference. For many of the Mac faithful (like myself), it’s like Christmas in July? August. In about ten hours you and I and the rest of the world will know what those in Cupertino have been working on for the past months/ maybe years. I’ll keep you posted, or you might be interested in visiting Macrumors.com. They will be doing live updates of the Keynote.

I love Apple. They are not afraid to be different. And more importantly, they are not afraid to be proud. For example, two banners (big banners I might add) hang in Moscone West. One reads: Mac OS X Leopard, Introducing Vista 2.0. Another reads Mac OS X Leopard, Hasta la Vista, Vista. I find it absolutely killer. More to come…
